Every hooked token gets vampired. Copy pools drain volume from the canonical pool, the hook stops earning, and LPs and creators fund liquidity someone else profits from. Routers see pools, not policies: they route through the copies or hit a silent revert. Every fix today is a one-off integration, token by token, router by router.
URC-5 makes venue policy readable onchain. The token declares its canonical Uniswap v4 pools onchain and enforces the trade routes, so malicious pools can't take liquidity or settle a swap. Routers, frontends, and indexers read the rule before they route, never simulate a dead path, and send every trade to the pool that earns for the token. One standard instead of bespoke integrations every time, on Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, Arbitrum, and every other EVM chain.
A hooked token's official pool carries the fees, rewards, and protections the token was built around. Routers can't see any of that. They see a quote, so trades go to whatever pool is cheapest. INDEX launched with its own 3% hook, yet a plain Uniswap v3 1% pool has done $154M, three times the $52M through the official pool, starving the protocol. Nothing onchain says where the token should trade, so the copies win by default.
Fees skipped by token · blue is volume through the official pool
Token teams declare their policy once, on the token itself or in a token list for tokens already deployed. Routers, aggregators, wallets, marketplaces, and indexers all read the same answer, so a hooked token trades where it was designed to, everywhere it's listed.
